Life as a Stage Manager During a Pandemic
Before this whole mess started, I was going to be a Stage Manager in our school’s musical production “The Addams Family.” I was given the position as stage manager because my teacher, Ms. Gates, saw me as a responsible student and trusted me to watch over a group of students. At first I was hesitant because at the time I didn’t believe that I was responsible enough. But over time I grew to like the position. I had a great crew to help me create the set that we were working on. I built great friendships and learned the values of teamwork, dedication, responsibility, and leadership. But just as I was beginning to get used to the position, a virus began to spread.

Advice | Do not procrastinate. No matter how much you want to, don't do it. Because you're going to regret it. Ask your teachers for help because I promise you they want to help, and they want you to succeed. |

How It Began
I started off with wanting to teach myself how to crochet, but after talking with Ms Gates, she helped me to decide what I wanted to do with my Capstone.
How It Changed
Things didn't really go as planned at all. I was excited for the upcoming Musical at our school, but Covid-19 started to spread and unfortunately school had to close and the musical was cancelled. Originally I was going to describe my experience as a Stage Manager, but then I decided to include how the pandemic has affected that.
Reflection
I learned the important values of responsibility, dedication, teamwork, and leadership.
